Lately I have not slept very well because we are in
the university in the period of examinations, and study during the night. So I
wondered what was the importance of sleeping a certain amount of hours and what
were the consequences of not sleeping properly.
So I found out some things on the Internet that I
found interesting to share.
We spend a third of our lives sleeping (that's a lot, considering that the life
expectancy of a person in Chile is 82 years)
Sleeping represents a vital function because we can’t live without sleep, sleep
"repairs" our body every day.
It is not known with scientific accuracy what
happens while we sleep, but what we do know is that each phase of the dream is
involved in a different task. During deep sleep, physical restoration occurs
during REM sleep and cognitive function (learning processes, memory and
concentration).
Some of the consequences of not sleeping well are
that it makes our ability to pay attention, remember and learn worse; It is
also associated with diseases such as obesity, diabetes and even cancer.
In conclusion I must go to sleep...
Good week to you all!
